Would appreciate any information that would help
identify a boat engine.
The engine is a inline 6cyl.orangey pink in color
with what looks like a transmission bolted to it,
attached to this is a Eaton outdrive. On the block is two sets of #. OH 31 and 8CIDE8015-A
Thanks,
Al Spicer

Al,

When you say the numbers are "on the block" I would guess you mean "cast" into the block. Is there a nameplate attached to the engine that would have a builder, model number, serial number?

A lot of engines used Eaton outdrives, and the color of the engine doesn't mean much...

A picture might help... but the nameplate data would be best.

Regards,
Andrew

Al,
I'm sure you have id'd your engine by now. That second number you quoted is a Ford casting number, so your engine is a Ford.

I have a 1968 Larson, with a 302 Ford and a Eaton outdrive. My question is,does it have an impeller in the outdrive? Because it does have a secondary water pump on the motor.

Thanks
Harold

Interceptor is listed in the sparkplug book with several ford engines. It does not say hydrodone.Hydrodone is not listed seperatly.Hydrodyne is listed same as indmar.

I am looking to find out the value of twin 302 Falcon motors w/ eaton outdrives. They are on an old houseboat I am thinking of buying. They are in excellent condition, and low hours. E-mail me at [email protected]

I have a 1963 hydrodyne fish & ski under restoration. Need to identify the eaton outdrive.
I don't know what model it is. This is the info I have, ser.33480 ca 16R26. Saginaw Michigan.
There is a plate on ea side of the outdrive which has a emblem and says Interceptor 165. The engine is a Ford 260 Interceptor. Need to remove the outdrive and replace the bellows and possible seals? Any help in directions for removing and locating parts will be appericated.
thank you
