Here are some pics of my latest project. It's tag was missing so I don't know the year. However it is a late early style engine. We know that due to the following:
3 port and no place for the earlier 2 port intake in the crankcase
Plug is on the top of the cylinder not the side
Cuno timer
2 bolt water pump. This is what sets it in the early style bunch. This puts it about ca 1915
Note the weld on the cylinder in the first pic

It is completly apart and on the way to running again. The water jacket was completly full of rust. However it all broke up and came out easily. The crack had been welded with stainless and it didn't stick well. I peeled it off and v'd out the crack to use epoxy.
Pics of the cylinder ready for epoxy.

JB,
If it isn't strural I use some called PC7 that I get from Home Depot. It is thixotropic meaning it doesn't run or sag. If I am concerned with strength I use good old JB weld. The slow kind. So to fill cracks and replace part of a water jacket I use PC7. To glue in pieces of water jacket I use JB weld

Ernie, Nice job but how do you support the inside of the water jacket?

Cylinder with jewlery. I need to polish them and paint the intake, exhaust and water outlet flanges. The tag on the left is instructions for mixing gas and oil

Looks very nice; a fresh water engine?

Will it be a runner or display only?

It will be a runner.
It will take a bit to get the rest of it painted and put together.

You make it look easy Ernie!

Any concerns about the strength of the cylinder walls when the jacket is not 'whole'?

NO compared to the YT1 I did last year this one is like new. The YT1 runs just fine. I for sure wouldn't put in a boat but for a show engine it's been ok.

Beautiful job. I used JB weld On the waterjackets of my old Hicks when I was commercial fishing. It worked great.
