Could anyone please comment on the Evinrude pictured below. In particular, is it rare to have a distributor on a two cycle? There seems to be gear tying the flywheel rotation to the distributor. What vintage is this inboard? Where would I find information on this engine? Things like what kind of oil to use, is it a 6 volt system, and would a manual be available?

This looks like the model DD, I have seen one other with a distributor inatalled. It is my belief that this is a field repair. vintage is early 20's. Your mileage may vary Roger |

HI Stumbled across your site and was intrigued to see an Evinrude Inboard,(model DD) I have one of these in the workshop, complete but stripped There is a small crack in the water jacket on top of the engine but other than that it is OK, It also has a small gearbox bolted to the back end Any info would be appreciated as it is on the list to restore it Thanks Nigel |
