Greetings from South Jersey. I just aquired a 1971 Buehler Turbocraft from the original owner in Lewistown PA. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buehler-Turbocraft-With-Trailer-Slightly-Used_W0Q QcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ80653QQihZ007QQitemZ170134684868QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW The boat came with the GRAYMARINE Fireball V-8 operator's manual. In this manual are listed all of the models of V-8 engines and there are 24. (reference page 2 if you have this manual) The 220 Fireball I have does NOT appear in this list and I cannot find any mention of it. The ID plate on my engine says: MODEL V8C220TD and has serial number W7853. It appears to be rare as it has twin carbs, one at front and one at rear. My guess is the TD suffix is TWIN DOWNDRAFTS ??? There are many of you that know lots and lots about these motors and I'd like help figuring out just what this motor is. I'm aware it is a 327, does that make it a Chevrolet ? Also, on the turbocraft, there is no Hull ID plate that I can locate. The boat may carry the same numbers as on the 3 stage Hamilton Jet that reads: MODEL 75-3S and serial number 4646M. To add to the confusion, the PA registration gives a Hull ID number as 2316205. Any information would be appreciated. I will "UN-Pickle" the engine on Monday. Bob G. |

I found out the boat might just be a Buehler Turbocraft Model 35 (Spelled out Thirty Five) in the brochure: Here is a picture of EXACTLY what mine looks like, color scheme and all. http://www.fiberglassics.com/buehler/buehlerb64009.jpg Many thanks again. Bob G. |

John, Thank you so much for the information. I'm excited to know I have an AMC ! Today I removed the sparkplugs, sprayed Marvel Mystery Oil in all cylinders and spent an hour turning the engine by hand. I evacuated the cylinders, cleaned the plugs and re-installed them, then I cranked her over. She roared to life in an instant and idled like she never went to sleep. I plan a Sea trial in the next few days. With much Gratitude, Bob |
