I need to get a new fuel pump, does anyone know the NAPA part number for the one that will work? The current one is electronic and mounted near the transmission. I need the correct one to fuel a Zenith 68 series carb. Thanks In advance. |

Moyer's got 'em. It is a 2-3 psi "Facet" fuel pump. It's the same as on an A4.

Scott, y'need to understand that Napa only deals with the tractor parts. The fuel pump is a marine adaptation. In that case it happens to be one of the few parts common to the Atomic4 engine. |

Well I got the new fuel pump, and the motor quite again, it would restart and run just fine at low rpm (just above idle), but as soon as you tried to run it faster it was start to die, running out of fuel. I got the 2-3 psi pump. Here is my system, new stainless steel tank, about same height as motor, 16' run of 5/16 line, mostly flat tell it reaches the racor filter, then rise's 2' to the filter, then back down to the fuel pump, fuel pump to carb with at inline filter in place. Anything sound incorrect? Any Ideas. Thanks everyone. |

I had a similar problem ... it was a bad grounding strap. The pump would only run intermittently (and I couldn't hear it over the motor to tell this).
Other possibilities: clogged fuel filter, clogged carb jet, loose carb needle (adjusting itself due to vibration). I'm sure there are others.
You can check the pump by hard-wiring it, taking the feed line off the carb, and seeing if you get decent fuel flow into a jar, which you can decant back into the tank.
If you've got good flow at the carb, then the problem is most likely in the carb. It is always possible that you've got a distributor/electrical problem, but it is less likely as you describe the symptoms.

You will probably have to get it from a Hercules parts house. Palmer did not make the fuel pump. Best I can tell. |

I have a Bendix electric fuel pump that just clicks and doesn't seem to build up any signifigant pressure at the tube that goes to the carb. Apparent the manufacturer is Facet and they run about $53 at NAPA. Scott did you ever get your engine to run right with the 2-3 psi Facet pump you put on. I'm going to run out and buy one but wanted to make sure it will work okay. |
