My P-60 in an Islander 30 MKII has performed well since new in 1973. After winter storage this spring I noticed a change in the "sound " of the engine. It seemed to lack the pep it had when it was winterized for storage last fall. I suspected bad things like a blown head gasket, burnt valve, etc. However ,I have very good news. I removed each of the spark plugs...no 1 thru 3 were brown in color while no 4 appeared to not have fired at all. Then the good news...there was a small speck of carbon wedged between the electrodes on no 4 plug!!! What a pleasant surprise...runs fine now...just wanted to share the good news. |

Good news is, well, good. It was also a good piece of information for future trouble shooting. Thanks. |
