I was visiting a boathouse on Tobin Island on Lake Rousseau and snagged the following pictures.
The boat is around 1910, cypress planked and I've seen and heard it from time to time over the years. Right now it is in need of some new cypress plankng and rehab work.

The Ferro apparently starts on the first or second flip almost every time.

I think you can make out the shifting arrangement.

When docking, it is nice to see the captain, work the Fwd and Rev to bring her in ever so gently.

Miro,

This summer when I am cruising Lake Rosseau, I would enjoy the experience of visiting with the Captain of this launch, arriving with my Kitchen Rudder dory. It would be very interesting to compare experiences about maneuvering small 2 cycle engine powered boats with the engine always operating in a forward direction.

Is it possible to arrange a contact email. I am familiar with Tobin Island having vacationed a t Wigwasson late 1930s.

Barry

Hi Barry,
The boat is in need of some repair and I don't think it will be in the water this year.
The boathouse is just north of Ted Rogers' new humungeuos(?) so-called cottage - it's gotta be at least 10,000 sq ft.

Any chance of getting some pictures of the engine and the boat?
