Which engine do you have if its a m60,p60 try www.valu-bilt.com You will have to order parts for a cub or cub lowboy and you will need to know if 6 or 12 volt pos or neg ground.

Larry, the IHC Cub Loboy, C-60 engine tractor distributor set up does not fit the M-60 AKA P-60 marine engine. The P-60 takes the Prestolite IAY-4010 A 2D distributor and drive gear shaft. I have seen people show the correct electronic ignition system on this page for the P-60. Gregory should look through those postings and I expect he will find the electronic distributor. Don't know why he wants to go that route as the original Prestolite works well and the parts are easy enough to get. Gregory make sure you ask for the parts for the Prestolite Distributor at any auto parts house. Don't talk Palmer or Marine engine as they will most likely think you have lost it.
Larry hope you are going to make the show. Regards, Dick

I'll be there just don't know when. I have to go to the pull first on saturday and take the trailer home first. If there were enough room i could just take the whole thing there. People would probably like to see a silverking tractor from 1937.

Larry I don't think there should be a problem if there is space for it. Why not park for a few minutes in the parking lot across the from the back entrance to the exhibit area. If there is room you can pull in and probably have no objection from the Museum staff. I have no authority to authorize your tractor being parked in the exhibit area and unless there is room I doubt the museum staff would be that understanding. Best I can offer. Regards, Dick

Gregory, I'm also looking at adding the electronic ignition in the P-60 in my 1971 Morgan 30. Any advice you could give, like where you purchased the Prestolite IAY-4010 A 2D distributor and drive gear shaft would be helpful. I also want to replace the carb and need a good source where to buy one.

You can get Zenith series 68 carburators a good replacement for the original series 61 from Moyer Marine.

For electronic ignition, you want the Pertronix "Ignitor" system, part number 1548. I got mine from Genessee Products - an antique tractor parts supplier - www.geneseeproducts.com - got it with a good coil from them back in 2002, and I've never had an engine ignition problem since.

Note: if you get one of these, you will have to take a file or a sander and take about 1/16 to 3/32 of an inch off the bottom of your distributor rotor. That's a known problem, and makes no problem otherwise.

For what it's worth, the reason that it exists has nothing to do with with Palmer engines - the reason it exists is that the Prestolite 1AY4010 distributor was used in early Jeeps - if I remember right, if you look for C3's from the early 1950's with the 4 cylinder engine you'll find lots of our ignition parts.
