When starting a cold engine the cooling system has lost its prime and becomes airlocked. Clamping and releasing the hose that goes from the top of the head to the thermo stats, sometimes fixes the problem when the engine is getting hot. The water pump was just replaced and we back feed the whole cooling system with water and were not able to locate any blockages. Engine pictures at url below. Anyone have any ideas at what to replace or test? Thanks in advance. Joe 1956 Chris Craft Sea Skiff pictures http://web.mac.com/jmorano/iWeb/mac/Gink%27s%20Boat.html |

Joe try putting a check valve "swing gate type "in the line before the water pump down by the pick up.This will also help in not giving the engine a shot of ice cold water on restart |
