I found this old engine on the beach at Queen Charlotte City I believe it is an old gardner semi diesel. can anyone tell me how old it is?

Terry,if you're still out there. There were some photos of restored early Gardner in Westcoast Mariner a few years back. Someone in the UK could tell you what this engine is. It might be Scandinavian also. Keep it damp or it will start to flake away to nothing very quickly. Frankly, it is probably beyond help as the iron will be absolutely loaded with salts. Only a very slow electrolytic treatment and/or a controlled bake at over 800 degrees might make it salvageable, to the best of my knowledge. |

It is definitely a twin Gardner VT semi diesel engine coupled to a gardner gearbox. It is very similar to the single I have in my boat. |
