Thanks Donna Guerin for sending these photos of the recent get together in Placquemine Louisiana the home town of The Nadler Foundry & Machine Company.
It was a tribute day to the old Company the foundry for the Lockwood Ash motors, Sears motorgo and later The Nadler Marine motors.

Gosh guys - those boats need to be run more - there is simply not enough grease and oil and other guck in the bilges. And I'll even bet they haven't acquired that unique bilge smell of old oil/gease and bilge water mixture.
Can I ( and some buddies) come down to Louisiana say, next March and put some more miles on the boats?

Miro, hope you can make it down. If anyone else wants to come let me know. I usually have it the week before Easter, I think that's April 1st, don't have an 07 calender here. If that day isn't good, let me know. The pictures are from the old Plaquemine Lock site. They built a nice walk on the bayou with floating docks. The site was part of the Nadler property, the engines were made here. There was a tribute to the Nadler family, they were in business from 1888 until 2000 and in their peak years had hundreds of employees. The boat in the first picture belongs to David Prejean, it's been in his family for years. It was a yard ornament and was very weather beaten. David is doing an excellent job of restoring it, saving most of the woood in the hull. The deck will have to be replaced. He's rebuilding an 8hp Nadler, we posted pictures of the rod bearings being poured. The clean boat on the trailer is Bob Legnon's, he installed seals on the crank, helps keep the grease and oil out of the bilge. |

I am in the market for a Nadler engine. Preferably a 6 or 8 HP for a fair price, I would prefer one running. Thanks |

Nadler never produced the 6hp, the 8hp's are around. Where are you located? |

The link is working now. The engine belonged to this guys grandfather. I hope he keeps it in the family.
