Looks more like a electric valve laper then a grinder. How would you grind a valve with it? |

johnny, I know what you mean, but in the context of the day, we used to talk about grinding the valves. A laborious process with grinding paste and elbow grease to eliminate pits and distortion.
When valve facers and seat cutters came into common use, there was little or no lapping needed.
One would have to challenge the statement about "each valve being ground and lapped with uniform accuracy". This, of course can only be achieved with the methods we use today.
Advertisers have never let a few facts ruin a good story!
