Ernie

I think you mentioned a dual intake Water/pump awhile back ? This Thrall seems to have two intakes with shut off/on valves ?

Yup it looks like mine
Not actually valves. The handles are on threded studs that can restrict/close the intake check balls at the pump. Search for Thrall on here and you will find some pics. Mine is all nickle plated. "salt water fittings" Even the Schlebler!

I recently came across a two cylinder, copper jacketed, fire pump outfit. The copper jackets have the ridges like a Thrall, the thin flywheel like the Waterman. Somewhere on this site, I thought I remember reading a post on just that sort of setup. However, I ran searchs for Arrow, Waterman, and Thrall and did not find what I was looking for. Does anyone recall that reference or did I read it in someother reference? Does anyone have some knowledge of that fire pump setup?

Solarrog,

Yes, that is just exactly like the one I saw. I did not get a close enough look to determine if it was a Waterman or an Arrow.

What is approximately the latest date that these were made?

Thanks for responding.

Its hard to tell the exact year, and for that matter weather they were Waterman or Arrow engines. Because they were sold under the Fairbanks Morse name as a complete unit, A guess would be 1915 to 1920

My inquiry may belong elsewhere as this little outfit isn't strictly speaking a marine item. However, it has so much in common with the Waterman-Arrow marine engines that I didn't feel it was too out of place.

I was disappointed when the seller brought this outfit down out of the loft - the water pump was missing. Nevertheless, I paid my money and took my chances that someday I might find an original pump to put on it.

The problem is I don't know what the original pump looked like, who made it, or how it coupled to the engine. If somebody has one of these, I sure would appreciate a clear photo of the pump, how it connects, some dimensions, and the make and model of the pump.
