I recently picked up a 12 hp 3 cylinder Ferro. It is in generally good shape and has rear starter and reverse gear. On the starboard side of the engine there are two large nuts on the crank base beside cylinders 1 and 2. They appear to be set screws. Does anyone know what these do? Beside cylinder 3 at the starboard rear base there is a 1 1/4 inch very fine thread hole leading to a fluid well cast into the crancase base. It this the main water intake? I have seen the color photos of the 2 cylinder and there is appears to be some strange sort of bronze tower where this hole is. Does anyone have a Ferro with this attachment complete? |

The bronze tower is the filler neck for the oil tank. There are hex head plugs on the starboard side of each cylinder to access water passages. I'll share printed material. I have a 17.5 HP Type H |

Thanks for info.
I made the filler tower out of a bronze fire hose nozzle and some other bronze odds and ends. |
