I recently found this old motor with most of its components. Ihave started to restore back to original state as a marine engine that could of come out of a yacht some 60 to 75 years ago here in New Zealand. So to understand the workings & placements of parts ie the magneto [BOSCHZE1no.884043] & oiling lubrication system I need technical maual or parts manual & a photo. If anyone can help I appreciate very much so I can get this rear motor restored & back to life again. |

I have a four cylinder 35 hp 1910 Erd. It has a fourteen line belt driven oil pump. I have no idea what the oiling requirements are. A man named Nat Hammond has a lot of original literature inlcuding an Erd manual for $90US (too much for me). I suggest simply mixing 2 stroke oil with gas at about 16:1 ratio. This is what I use in my early outboards. I recall seeing an oiler on an early Titan tractor and the drips were coming at about 3 second intervals. That's the best I can suggest right now-others may have better ideas. |

Steve Thanks your note .Do you have a contact for NAT HAMMOND so I can ask if his ERD Manual has any reference to my ERD single cylinder motor if so would look at buying the manual from him. Do you have the original paint colours for your 1910 engine? Please advise Thanks Leo Caunter. |

The paint is original on my engine. It is black, not gloss but almost flat black with a bit of sheen to it, what the paint people refer to as satin. All brass and bronze were not painted. The crankcase access plates may be aluminum.. If so they were natural. If cast iron, they were painted black as well. |

Steve Thanks your comments Iunderstand sati gloss paint . It looks like my engine was painted a dirty dark green as I now start to scrape it down. Crankcase is cast steel and looks like it was painted black. Do you have a ERD MOTORS Manual if so does it have any thing on my model, If so is it possible to copy that section & mail to me ? Thks .
