Hi Could anyone help me with some info please, my dad has just purchased a 1929 narrow boat fitted with a coventry diesel engine, he has been told the engine is of 1933 ish origin and out of a ships launch, is there any way of referencing across from the engine number/ data plate to find out more acurately the cc and year of origin and any other info i could gleen about this lovely engine, i can e-mail a picture of the engine if this would help. It just says coventry diesel on the engine i believe its the came manufacturer as the coventry climax engine that was in the hilman imp. I could do with a way of find out details of the engine from the data plate. Thanks |

Hi Steve. Would be interested to see a pic of your engine. I have a Cub Diesel 2 x cylinder opposed, which Coventry Victor had the licence for, but never manufactured themselves. Coventry Climax was another concern altogether apparently. Regards Dave |
