I just installed a counter rotation 318 and am having trouble with getting the motor to fire up. I was told by the manufacturer that the distributor timing gear has to be pointing directly at #1 on TDC before wiring the cap in the correct firing order. Is this true? I have rebuilt a lot of engines and rarely when you drop the distributor in does the rotor point directly at #1.All I do is- wherever the rotor is pointing to on the cap begin the wiring sequence in the correct firing order and bam goes the motor. Is this little chrysler that fussy about where the drive gear is installed? Does'nt sound right to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Randall |
