A friend has an Ailsa Craig 2 cylinder petrol marine engine. Model no. LA2. It is fitted with a Zenith carby. From my knowledge of Veteran cars, I would estimate it around 1915. Does some one know the year(s) of manufacture, and the HP of this model? |

Hello, I am not sure of your model, but I know a man who can perhaps help. Dr Robert Kisch who is descendant of the Ailsa Craig inventor used to run the company and knows all about the engines and history. I can't quite place his address, but I got it off the web, so it must be around somewhere. I have an Ailsa Craig R2 "Pup", twin cylinder 2 stroke from about 1925. This has a Zenith too. |

Dr. Kisch's site www.ailsacraigengines.co.uk seems to be defunct. Perhaps he has passed on or is in poor health? |

Dr Robert Kisch Villa Martinique Chemin du Moulin St Ouen Jersey Channel Islands JE3 2FL Dad was the last owner of the manufacturing plant until 1964. Can place every engine produced from 1905 - all 10,604 ! Site was withdrawn as it needed total revamp. |

What could be told from an engine plate with "TYPE DF3 No.3211" and under that a milled flat with "ACRO LICENSE" hand stamped into it? |

"TYPE DF3 No.3211", The engine was a 3 cylinder Ailsa Craig engine. If you were to write to my Father at the address in this thread, he could tell you when it was manufactured. ACRO licence indicates that it was made under licence at a factory agreed by my Grandfather. This could have been made during WW2 as no engines were made under licence after WW2. The only other indication of RO would be the Ricardo licence- which was basically the Whirlpool Combustion chamber that was used for the RF and RFR series. |

Mint condition Kermath Sea Jeep 4 with original owners manual dated January 1st 1946. Bought from John G Rapp Co., 123 Second Street San Francisco California. Sitting on a rack in the beautiful warmth of a northern California pear shed. Anybody have a ballpark price for this big beautiful bastard? |
