Have just aquired a 1933 Lyman 19' 3 cocckpit runabout. Original engine was said to be a Gray Phantom 6-93. No engine currently in boat. Have found a Gray Phantom 6-135 for sale. Anyone know of any diffences in dimensions and weight between the two. |

John, Are your sure it was a Phantom 6-93 ? I don't see that in the indexes of Gray engines. There was a Phantom Six-90 and a Phantom Six-103. Six-135
- 6 cylinder
- 3-7/16 x 4-3/8 244cid
- Weight, Iron: direct drive 800 lbs , reduc 900lbs
- 135HP @ 3600RPM

John, My 1934 literature shows a "Phantom 6-93" as a "Hi-Speed" engine, one model down from their "Racing" model. It was rated 93 HP. at 3600 rpm., 3 3/8" X 4", 214 cu. in., weight of 686 lbs. with an alum. oil pan. I would have to know what year 6-135 in order to compare dimensions. |

i think i have the motor you need. it is a 6-135 i got the engine from a demolition sale it was in the process of being rebuilt by the man who owned the house but has since passed away. the engine has new piston and rods.the crank was worked, and the head was done it is assembled less the oil pan and exhaust manifold witch i also have. there is a transmisson attatched to the block. there is two zenith carbs in the box of parts also .i have a prop shaft and rudder gear box. there is also some misc. parts i cannot identify. the engine came out of a 1950 somthing century that the man was rebuilding that did not survive the demo. e-mail me if you think it would be of use to you or somebody you know. |

Yes its a 4 cylinder gas.You seem to be missing the sprakplugs and distributor. The model engine is probably f140 or f162,they are both the same size outside only they have differant pistons inside.A picture of the other side would show if you are missing all the electics. |
