I have recently purchased a 25 ft. steel hull boat that I have been told was originally built for the Royal Navy (Canada) during WWII. It is powered by a Chrysler Marine straight six engine. Can anyone tell me where on the engine to find an identification plate or stampings that will give model no. year and so forth. Thanks |

The pictures i have show a plate on the block under the exaust manifold.Iding thease can be hard as they used at least 3 numbering systems and many of them used the same block with differant piston sizes. In 1946 the engine numbers are 3 through 12 then differant numbers like T112 show then numbers like 28,29,30,32 show up. |

I have an old Chrysler Marine inline 6 cyl. combination intake/exhaust manifold that I need to identify. The only number on the manifold is: E 5337 M just as it appears with spaces between the letters and the numbers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Manifold is in perfect condition and has been bead blasted and painted. John |

Id plates are located near back of engine by the oil filter housing but they are gone most of the time. also there is always one on the transmion mount. If you are trying to ID for parts let me know. I know part # for things such as gaskets, fuel pumps, thats about all that will go bad. Any thing else the machinest should be able to measure and order. at least mine did. |
