The main bearing set includes two sets of one size and a third with a collar. It looks like the collared bearing might belong in the middle, but I think I remember during disassembly that the collared bearing was near the flywheel; although others have suggested it belongs at the transmission end. Perhaps the journal width will indicate the proper position. Does anyone remember which of the three mains host the collared bearing? |

Get the IHC Cub-Lo-Boy C-60 tractor engine handbook from Valu-Bilt Tractor Parts. 1-888-828-3276 or WWW.VALU-BILT.COM. When taking something apart that may be complicated to put back I take digital photos. |

Thanks Richard, that's good advice. I'll try to remember to take more pictures next time. The days have streched into months on this project and my memory is wanning. The owner's manual is actually more helpful than it seemed at first glance, i find it takes a careful reading and my copy is a fairly poor photostat. On more careful inspection, I decided the center is the most appropriate fit, but I had put the end caps in backwards and that caused the crankshaft to bind. Now that I have it right, it turns quite easily. Thanks again for all your help! |
