Hello...I have just obtained an Evinrude 2 cycle 2 cylinder motor minus a carb that my brother found in central New York State. Serial number DD66302. I wish to know the year of mfg and where to obtain a carburator for my prize. There is a mechinism on the rear of the moter that I have no idea what it is or what it may be used for. Perhaps I can learn how to send a pic . I have removed everything that I could and am left with a cylinder block , pistons and con rods, and crank that I am trying to remove very carefully . The pistons/cylinder area have a lot of rust and corrosion that I am trying to remove with PB breaker...I hope it works so that I don't damage anything. Any help that anyone can give would be GREATLY APPRECIATED . Kindly help from all the experts and any help from any Evinrude restorers. I would prefer to not make any mistakes with this beauty. I normally restore violins and bows but would truly enjoy seeing this old motor hum again. Thank you in advance. Bill |

Bill, the best advice I can give right now is don't rush or force anything. Go to the search feature at the top of the page, enter Evinrude Inboard, you'll see several. |

The modell DD were used as inboard motors and fire pumper motors, If yours has a brass pump running off an excentric in back its an inboard motor. The fire pumper motors tapped water off the fire pump to cool the motors, I have one apart out in the shop myself. I need to have my crankshaft hard chromed and reground to match my resized rods. They were mounted on a aluminum base. Post some pictures for us |

Hi...My sincere thank you to all who took their time to post with information. So far I have had some success with PB . I only have 1/4 of one cylinder left to remove. I am letting it soak away. It does have a water pump on the aft end . On the side opposite the primer cups there is a 1/4 " pipe nipple that I have no idea what it is for. It is located near the top of the compression chamber and about 3" long. Does anyone know where I may be able to find a carb for the prize as none came with it when I received the motor ? I'll post a pic when it is reasonably together.Thanks again, Bill |
