I have a Xerox of an ad from a MOTORBOAT magazine (year unknown) showing engines made by the ABLE ENGINE CO. Inc of Peekskill, NY. It shows engines with square corners and right angles; simple design. This is what I have always thought this engine was. Anybody who really knows could make my day by writing in!! It is a 2 cylinder (no Patricia, the pistons are not square) Water pump chain driven from back crank shaft. Side view shows exhaust port (intake is hidden below it) |

Tom, That has to be one of the strangest looking early marine engines I have ever seen! I have never seen one like it and can't add any info... thanks for posting the pictures though... hopefully someone else can shed some more light on it for you... Regards, Andrew |

Beats Me I have only seen one engine with a square exhaust manifold and nothing like this one. |
