can any one help
im emaling from the uk probebly a shot in the dark but you may be able to put me in the right direction !!!!
im looking to find information on the manifacture of gray engines. i own a 38 feet motor boat that im told originaly came over from the us in 1960 (shipped deck cargo) and that she was powered by an american gray engine i only have spoken word info on this as the then owner died years ago.
the name of the boat is ALOHA wood construction built around 1948/50
i know its not much to go on but any info would be greatly recived

Chris,

You don't actually say it, but I assume the engine is no longer in the boat? You are trying to detirmine what the original engine was...?

If so do you have anything else to go on? I doubt if anyone will know from what you have provided. Gray made a lot of models of engines in that time period...

Do you know of it was gas or diesel? Do you have the original engine beds in the boat and know the measurements...?

If you can provide some more info I'm sure someone here could help.

thanks Andrew yes its no longer in the boat in fact i have never seen one
My father seems to think that it was probebly gas (petrol) a 6 cylinder and probebly side valved due to the clearance between the mounts and the floor board. It will take me some time to get the mounts measured due to it being winter
but will get back as soon as i can
