Thanks

George,

Do you have the full model number or a serial number?

Is it a "Royal"... they weren't "model R".

Try to post some more info.

Andrew, from the pictures I've rec'd the ID plate shows "R" and the serial # is 3161 S. Maybe the R stands for Royal?
I also have a US Motors Corp. Falcon. Know anything about that?

George,

Can you post the picture of the ID plate? I don't think any of the Chrysler Royals were a model R.

What approximate year is it from what you have been told?

after the model symbol are four blank spaces folowed by letters which indicates special equipment and rotation. if , for example, the letter "C" is shown, the engine is equipped with the power take-off. The letter "H" indicates hydraulic shift, "R" for right hand rotation or "L" for left - hand rotation. after another interval of four spaces the serial number is shown followed by a leter disignating the type of drive. "S" indicates straight drive; "R" indicates reduction gear; and "V" identifies Vee Drive.
I took this information straight from the manual word for word. Also the ID plate can be found on the right hand engine mount that the transmision mounts to. If the engine was not well taken care of then it will probally have fallen off.
