I moved this message from the "One and Two Cylinder" catagory here to the "Kermath" catagory:

Your 8-10 is part of a series of engines known as Kermath America's Standard Four Cycle Marine Motors.I't was made in 1,2 and 4 cyl. models,from 3 to 20 hp. all model's had a 4" stroke with bores rangeing from 3.5" to 4".Your 8-10 is 4 x 4. 8hp at 600rpm 10hp at 800rpm, 1200rpm max.I own three,1cyl 3-4hp,2cyl 6-8hp and 4cyl 20hp.All fine runners,the 6-8 powers my 26'Dory.Give me your mailing adress and I will send what info I have.Hope this helps----John |

John your description above reminded me I had a 1930 Kermath catalog. Full page, i'll separate parts for best detail ! |

Thanks Richard,I didn't have that,I made a copy and put it my Kermath file.Most of what I have I got from Lorne Kermath who I believe is a great grandson.It's not a lot tho.Hope this finds you and yours well.-----John |

Hi guys, I have the same motor. I just bought a 1942 life boat with this motor and could really use the same tech. information. I got the motor running without to much problem but still need some information about the old girl, BTW any idea when these motors were made? |
