I have a Miller Inboard barrelback which I am told was originally built in Chicago. They were made with the 60hp Ford Flathead around the late 1930's. Does anybody know where I can get more history on this boat. The ACBS and Real Runabout books don't even list. It is rare since I have found no others in my travels. This one is 14' long and dual cockpit. |

Greetings Iowa, Some places to check, if you have not already done so: 1)Chicago city directories, probably after 1936 or so when some companies were starting to rebound from the Great Depression 2)Chicago Historical Society, which has a good archive 3)Illinois corporations and securities division of state government for corporation annual reports 4)Chicago Maritime Society, 310 S. Racine St., 6th Floor, Chicago, IL 60607, phone (312) 421-9096, www.chicagomaritimesociety.org 5)Association for Great Lakes Maritime History website, www.aglmh.org Unfortunately, probably none of these help for a restoration, but it may give you some hope on at least locating the company. Good luck! |

I have a Miller Marine boat from the 1950's. I have never seen another from this builder. Can you send some pics of your hull? |
