I'm currently restoring a 1906(?) 1 HP Detroit Auto-Marine. I'm interested in any information, pictures, etc. of the engine label/brass tag that was on the cylinder. Would also like to know what factory colors were and any other info that would help in restoration.

I'm still trying to get a wax impression of a Detroit auto marine tag (see the name plate PDF that Larry Healy so kindly provided). Does anyone have one who would be willing to make an impression? I'll send the kit and pay postage to have it returned. Thanks!

Mechman, What are the dimensions of the mounting holes for this tag. I would like to know the distance between them as I have an engine I think is Major John made by Detroit Auto Marine. No tag on mine. Thanks, Audie

Marc,

Someone would like to put it where it belongs. There are many engines out there with missing tags. Post a picture so we can see what it looks like. Value likely in the double digits.

Jim
