Mystic 05, great show. If you are in the area or driving distance show up for Sunday. If you show up at the gate and have not pre registered, they won't turn you away.
It's worth the trip. The LA crew is here again. So I guess it really is worth the trip!
Hope to see you Sunday
Ernie
By the way pics to follow in a day or so.

uh-oh
What a trio
Dick Gibbons (L)Jaime Hury (C) and John Smetania (R)
And an LA engine to boot. The gray engine is a Nadler from LA and it went home with Jaime.
By the way if I spell anyones name wrong, I am sorry. Not sure I can spell my own anymore. guess it's an age thing.

My junk.
L to R
Wisconsin aircooled Marine, Detroit 2hp, Palmer BH 1953 and a 4HP Nadler
The Palmer ran all day both days and I was accused of removing the guts and installing an electric motor. With all the background noise you couldn't hear it running.

John Smetania's Bateau. I think John said it was 22 feet long and it has a real nice Red Wing 4 cylinder in it. By the way that is John standing by his boat.

A neat little Regal 2 cylinder Marine with reverse gear. Actually it is a Stover DV2 that has been marinized. I didn't get the owners name.

Post Em when you can, maybe Mike will see this and post his. Bob price usually takes photos too !

Northern part of the eye passed directly over us, for once there was minimal rain and only 75 mph winds here. 25 to 50 miles south was the hardest hit with 75- 95 mph winds and torrential rain. 4 poeple lost their lives, over 3/4 million without electricity today, lots of flooding, but really a minimal hurricane. When this one hits land again it will be a serious and dangerous Hurricane !
Sun and fun in South Florida? not this week.

Rich Pilotte, What is the matter, your big single cylinder Novo stationary runs great. The one you are leaning on most likely won't run again.

Those LA guys show up every where.
Jaime Hury and JB Castanos

Marc, one of the shipyard staff. Would you have that look on your face if I was handing you a beer? By the way Marc and all of the shipyard staff coulnd't be more helpfull. That is the big Lathrop stationary that Marc is standing next to. This pic gives you an idea just how big it is. I would guess Marc is over 6 ft tall. The Lathrop is at least waist high.

This engine is not a Palmer. I took these pics and forgot to recored the name of the MFR and location. Dick Day if you want to follow up on this the engine is owned by the couple from NY with that nice Lathrop powered launch.

Great job on the pictures Ernie, thanks. Dick Day just sent a note on the hurricane, tried to reply but it bounced. Dick Gibbens, Jamie Hury, and I are about 50 miles west of New Orleans, Bob and John are farther west. It is a powerful storm but we are on the better side if it continues as predicted. Have to go board up and pick up, Dick, your thoughts and prayers are much appreciated.

JB we all hope mother nature is easy on you. As to Dicks e-mail bouncing, I often have that happen. It seems that there is something (glitch) in gateway.com that prevents a reply. I copy and paste the reply into a new e-mail and with the address out of my address book and it works fine. What ever the glitch is it isn't visable.

I'll try to get my pics on the page within the next couple of days. Actually, I should take advantage of the free wireless internet at the marina which we are staying, and get some pictures on tonight. We're on the tail end of a week-long boat trip to Nantucket. I've been extremely fortunate to be able to crew on this boat for the same trip for the past three years.
Usually it coincides with the same weekend as the Mystic show, but luckily the trip started a few days later this year
