Brian, That's amazing that you could read the nameplate so well underwater! Hopefully someone here has some catalog information that shows a "Type D1". The next portion that says "HP 1215"... do you think that could have been something different? Do you have any feel for how large the engine is, or was it buried...? Approximate size might help someone identify it. FYI you can do a search on this board (use the search link at the top of this page) for "Sterling" and you will see a lot of disucssions and pictures. There were many sizes and styles of Sterling engines. |
