does any one have drawings/plans of the ST gearbox. reverse gear works a bit but forward gear doesn't I have been told that prop shaft should move in and out when gears change.Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

Kate .........check the hex socket screw on the top of the gear box . Loosen the hex socket and then turn the brass nut . Set it so that pressure forward and astern is the same ...then lock the hex screw. If you can not move the shaft then get a piece of wood and a hammer and give the shaft flange a good belt. |

on top of the gearbox there is a hex screw(20mm) which seems to be an air vent. Inside i can see a spring on one side, however access is very limited. I'm afraid I have the wrong screw.The prop shaft is still not moving,after a medium strength whack.Again, it is difficult to get to.Should it really be moving in and out? How much? |
