Had a fine afternoon over at the calvert show.Lots of pretty boats and engines. When i saw all the cars i thought what a crowd.Well most of them where families that came for the model boat building and other things the museum had going on.So the engine exibit area was not over crowed.I left just in time to hit the rain on the way home.i guess the guys who stayed for the barbque had plenty of places to get out of the rain. |

Sounds as if the Calvert show went well... if anyone has photos to send me I will post them... or if they get posted elsewhere, let us know where we can see them. Regards, Andrew |

Andrew, We missed you at the show. It was great! Little rain in the evening and cloudy Sunday morning. The BBQ was great and we had a great turn out for it. It was held under the lighthouse so the rain was no problem. The food was very good and plenty of it. I think the museum probably subsidized at least half of the cost which was very nice but next year they should raise the price in our opinion as they are not that well endowed as some museums are. Anyway a very thoughtful gesture. Keith Billet's Fay and Bowen restoration was a real work of art and with a little fine tuning by Ernie Darrow it ran like a watch. Myself I had to basically stand around and let others do the lifting. I didn't suffer however. Some very nice boats showed up. There were a large number of outboards and I found particularly interesting the outboards that folded up into small cases for transport. |
