Can anyone help me identify the engine (and yacht possibly) from my yacht? Have had no luck tracking down any of the numbers stamped into the casing. Has LM25 WP on top of rocker cover, and the number I47990. More info on http://www.dorsetmarineservices.co.uk/help_wanted.htm Any help very gratefully received! |

Your engine is some model of Petter. From the pics I can't see if it is water or air cooled. However there should be a ton of info out there. I do believe that Andrew had various Petter manuals available over on Marineengine.com. Hope this helps Ernie |

By the way Westerbeke sold it as a water cooled version. Not sure if Petter did. Here is the Westerbeke info page. If it was Westerbeke it was a DS 5 or DS7 http://www.westerbeke.com/parts/parts.cfm |

Thanks Ernie, sorry I really ought to have said, it's water cooled, pumped via belt driven punp and exiting via exhaust. |

The salt water cooled Westerbeke's used a little pump on the reverse gear to the cylinder then out the exhaust. However if you search the Petter stuff on the net you will most likely find yours. |
