James Dwight Lamb purchased Omaha Machine Works and organised The Lamb Boat & Engine Co.in Clinton Iowa in 1900. Engines were called "Brass Jackets" for the unique brass sleeve used as the outer water jacket on the cylinders !
By 1905 the Company was mfging 2 cycle and 4 cycle engines from 1 1/2 to 60 Hp.
Lamb Boat & engine Co. was sold in 1916 to The Climax engine Co. also of Clinton Iowa.
