Has anyone got a lead on Ives MFG.Co. Baltimore, MD.? I have an 80 page catalog with no date. It says they have been in business making marine engines for 12 years. They show jump spark and make and break. Two/port and three/port engnes up to 4 cylinder. They devide their product line into so called light duty which look like the typical headless two strokes of the period 1900-1920s. Their commercial line has the very early style flat mounting base rather than at the shaft center line. I have had no luck trying to find any evidence of surviving data or engines. It must have been a big operation as their engines appear to be made in a vast number of combinations. They also made reversible pitch props, and all the hardware that one needs for mounting engines in a boat. One interesting note they show the Schebler model D but it is listed as the IVES carburetor. Some of their two strokes have typical marine stye mixing valves. |

In my notes I have an "Ives Mfg Co". With the tradename of "Farro" but not real sure about them, and so far have not come across even one ad !
Now that you say they were into propellers and maybe Carburetors I'll look them up that way and see if they ever advertised. |
