We should have been able to guess that from the "wipe" timer... very distinctive to Tuttle... |

I still have not seen a Tuttle in person. I live a couple miles from the San Francisco bay, And rarely see a marine engine here. Are there any other West coast collectors on this board? Roger |

Richard, Look up Palmer More. They look similar to the one you posted at the top. I wonder if they are related. Yellow Book page 377 There is another of this style in one of the Hiscox books. (I think) |

Ernie Palmer-Moore open base is one of my favorite 2 stroke Old Marine Engs. They were in Syracuse N.Y and Eddystone-Globe was a large mfgr in Philadelphia, Pa. The eddystone engs were open base the Globe engs were closed ! The open base engs stir up a lot of interest especially the 2 strokes ! I entered in my info system "open base" and came up with 12 engines, some 2 cycle, some 4 cycle and some diesel. I will be away from my info untill next week but I can post these old open engines in this "Whats The Name" heading here if enough interest and continue posting engine photos here regularly if O.K. with Andrew as to taking up the space etc ? It would be an interesting and fun project ! |
