Hi Guys, I'm Back in the Garage after a long break (and no PC for awhile) and hope to have my Penguin & Vinco running by Xmas..

The Penguin seems to be the 4hp model with the flared out water jacket. I managed to get the water jacket off a few days ago, and although there is some bad pitting, it should clean up fine.... I'll paint the inside of the water jacket - Will sand-blasting be OK for surface prep, or should I phosphate wash it??

It still has the original integral soft clutch, built into the hub of the flywheel, and I believe it's quite rare... The rings are free, compression's good, there should be no big probs...

The Vinco is good too, rings free, good compression. I'm not sure, but it would be around 4hp as well, possibly 5hp... I'd love to know how old it is, it seems to be pre-war. The caps on the grease cups are steel, and seem to have been fabricated. They were made in England, so I'm guessing it was before they could source the cups in Aussie.... It was fitted with a Chapman clutch when I got it, bolted up to the flywheel...

Both engines were in use until last year, hauling cray pots on the deck of a cray boat in Southern Gippsland, Victoria (Australia), so they're in fairly good nick...

My Chapman 3hp Master Pup is dead, unfortunately! The water jacket (which was badly clogged with rust) finally cracked in a big way, resulting in a 1/4 of it falling off. I had another Chapman in pieces, so I've swapped the blocks over, but I'd still like to find another block....

I'll keep the updates coming! Looks like I'm gonna be busy - I've just been offered 2 Blaxland twins.... 1 complete & running, the other in pieces... Both are in good cond. with maggys & clutches....!
