I have Bosch Starter, P/N 0001311056, on my 1975 Sabb 2H,
I need to find the assembly that holds the brushes- ( plate, 4 brush holders with springs, )
- How do I find a parts manual for this starter? ( the Bosch starter part number, which appears in the Sabb 2H manual) , does not come up in my internet search.
- Am I correct that Bosch probably used the same backing plate assembly for many of its starter that have and ID of 2.8"
- Does anyone have a source that specializes in overhauling

Jim the bosch brush holder part number is 1004336057. Try www.aspwholesale.com or I have a couple of rebuilders here on LI that I use for all my starter/alt needs for my clients. One is a local old school shop that does nothing but this, the other is a large national rebuilding chain that has a back door so to speak. If you like send it to me and I can take care of it for you no cost but the repair bill.

Thanks- Nobby- I will be back to you after I go as far as I can with the starter. My neighbor is a heavy equipment mechanic so he must have things like brush springs. The backing plate seems to be OK. I am sure brazing new brushes on will be challenge but maybe I can find something to practice on. Have not tested the field coils yet. I need to put an amp gage on my starter circuit. I cannot believe that this starter has suffered for at least 2-3 years without me knowing about it. - I usually have a default thinking and blame the battery when the starter in not spinning.
Fortunately this is a winter project my spare 2H had good starter
