I am looking for information on or possibly the location of a 1955 built Vern Davis Hull named the MISS BEE BEE E-4 CLASS E SERVICE RUNABOUT. This boat was raced by my Grandfather, William "Edgar" Jones. He raced with Mr. J.P. Watkins some, but mostly with my father until the time he went to college. The boat was created by Vern Davis and actually completed by my Grandfather. It is a National Champion boat during the time my Grandfather drove it (1957). It was sold to Mr. Thomas Jebson who raced it as the MISS AMY D E-27 until 1972. During this period, I know of President's Cups that were won, but not sure of the years. The boat was sold in 1972 to a young man taking it to Florida and from there it's been lost. There is some information also found on the following pages: http://www.vintagehydroplanes.com/photoofthemoment.html http://www.hometown.aol.com/prostckgrl069/ClassicBoating.html |
