I have a 1972 27 horse Palmer gas engine in my Catalina sailboat. I was running the engine at the dock the other day and the engine stalled. It had plenty of gas in the tank, so I'm not sure why it stopped. I spent the afternoon working on it today, replaced the gas filter; checked that plugs (they were firing); checked the distributor cap which seemed okay; took off the air filter, still wouldn't start; drained the carborater, but didn't take it apart and clean it. The engine will turn over but will not start. Any thoughts on what the problem might be? |

Have you checked that the fuel line is not clogged? Replace any old rubber fuel lines with Coast Guard approved fuel line. make sure fuel is flowing to carburator. |
