my alternator quit spinning on a 60's M47 Chryler Marine flathead 6 engine. it appears just to slide into a housing that drives the raw water pump on the other side. the wter is stillpumping through the engine and the alternator is free to spin but isn't. the engine had been unused for several years but the alternator seemed to be working fine for the last 20 hours of use. any ideas before i start dissasembling things? any ideas as to where to get a good shop manual? any assistance would be greatly appreciated. thanks |
