Hi everyone, although I suspect that this engine dates from 1953 (year of boat manufacture) and this board is Pre 1940 there is obviously a wealth of knowlage out there and hopefully someone can help.
I am thinking about buying a boat fitted with two of these engines but cannot find any info on the web about them. I need to know if I am going to have problems with obtaining parts, it has been suggested that the SM6 is the same as the P6 but this has also been contradicted... To add to the problem I cannot have the engines run due to the tanks being drained for repair. Am I looking at an expensive engine replacement?
