does any one have drawings/plans of the ST gearbox. reverse gear works a bit but forward gear doesn't I have been told that prop shaft should move in and out when gears change.Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. Kate. |

Kate .........check the hex socket screw on the top of the gear box . Loosen the hex socket and then turn the brass nut . Set it so that pressure forward and astern is the same ...then lock the hex screw. If you can not move the shaft then get a piece of wood and a hammer and give the shaft flange a good belt. |

on top of the gearbox there is a hex screw(20mm) which seems to be an air vent. Inside i can see a spring on one side, however access is very limited. I'm afraid I have the wrong screw. The prop shaft is still not moving, after a medium strength whack.Again, it is difficult to get to.Should it really be moving in and out? How much? |
