I'm new to old engines, so am not sure if I'm in the right part of the discussion board. I'm in Sydney, Australia, and have bought a fishing boat built in 1915. An old hand told me it was built with a Union 10 hp petrol engine, long since removed and junked. Would this have been built by the Union Gas Engine Co? Any information at all would be useful. (Including: when you guys talk about gas engines, are you talking about town gas, or gasoline engines?) |

des_beechey, More than likely Union Gas Engine; San Franciso, CA. Put Union Gas Engine in the SEARCH function of the web page header here at OME- should be a bit of discussion archived on the Union. Engines discussed here are primarily gasolene or oil fueled. I don't think much producer gas made it out on the water. |
