Thomas Fleming Day did become a convert to "gasolene" (of sorts) and made the first transatlantic voyage in a small gasoline powered craft. It is a great story, but not a trip that any of them would wish to repeat. Sponsored by Scripps using a Scripps engine. THE VOYAGE OF THE DETROIT
