so i have a old 6-354 that has not always seen maintenance in the past. i have done a service on it and a new battery, it had water in the fuel and I'm sure its all out now. it starts well and idles well after she's warm i can take it out at 1/2 speed and no problem. the problem starts when i bring it past, approx., 1/2 throttle it starts to run away. not a run away motor as it will come down spatially and then after 1 to 1 1/2 min of that it will die and not like to start right away. any ideas out there? |

Sounds like there is a fuel starvation issue. A good clean out of the whole fuel system is in order, since a very small piece of schmutz in a diesel engine will do that. |
