Posting this for Michael: ******** I stopped by today and checked out a 19' sharpie with a Gray Marine engine. It's a single cylinder ~1910ish engine. The owner says it was running and they were using the boat up till 2006, when they sold their lake property. The boat and engine have been in storage since. It appears to be very complete. There's a FNR transmission installed down past the engine, and then the stuffing box and propeller. Nice brass fuel tank. The engine turns over and has compression, but the oilers and carb would likely need cleaning, of course. The owners said the Sharpie dated back to the early 70's. It's a camper model with the cabin top hinged at the forward end. There's no tent present in it though. The boat is made out of mahogany. The only rot issue I saw was part of the port chine was a bit rotty on the inside upper corner. Most of the boat was solid. The hull will need recaulked, the deck which is plywood will need stripped and painted or covered. There's two very large nice bronze ports, a bronze bell, and running lights. The motor seems in unusually decent condition, and its all set up to go. I'm looking for a project, but this is probably two projects, and not something I'm ready to tackle right now. Very nice couple, they're asking $2,500 for the boat, motor, and trailer. It's located in Southwick Massachusetts. I got their ad off of Facebook. I can email that link if you or someone would like it. I'll forward a pdf with pictures in another email. Hope someone gets this that can use it! All the best, Michael ********** Michael can be reached at westfieldriverdoc at yahoo.com
