I'm looking for any information on a Frisbie Marine Motor, single cylinder 5 hp A motor with a 4 3/4 inch Bore and a 5 inch Stroke Serial No A1688. The Motor was built sometime between 1909-1920 I believe. It has an Air Friction Carburetor that looks original. Here are some pictures of my Motor

Here are some pictures of the Air Friction Carburetor and an unknown to me ignition. Any help in identifying it would be greatly appreciated. I did read that Frisbie used Atwater Kent Ignition on some motors

Yours might also be a more conventional buzz coil type with a timer.
If you take off the cover plate, you'll either see the AK mechanism, or a rotating contact that will contact the insulated screw contact.
The AK Unisparker usually has a different top connection for the sparkplug than yours.
In either case you will need a coil of some sort.
The AK system has some mystery to it, but by all accounts works well. It provides one spark per rev, whereas the timer/buzzcoil type will make multiple sparks per rev.
