I have always been told these 2 engines are basically the same. I am in the process of rebuilding the 4-75 for a '46 Century Sea Maid. I am assuming these engines were installed backwards with the flywheel to the front? If so the "FRONT" on the pistons means, towards this flywheel? Appreciate any help. |

I don't have much experience with Continental but their competitor Hercules sold their engines as short blocks. When you pull one apart the "front" arrow points to the reverse gear. |
