Here is a Youtube of my latest project. A 1965 Palmer PW 27 Several years ago I did some trading at the Calvert,MD show and ended up with a Palmer PW 27 that had been freshwater cooled and ran OK but really and I mean really needed main bearings. Later that year I found another PW 27 with no cylinder, however the bottom end was perfect. Here is the end result of combining the parts. It still needs a final clean and paint. I also have the starter generator and control panel which I will also paint and reinstall. The Youtube below is the first run. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEMdhnrvtw0 |

Very nice! Great little engine. Years ago I had a chance to pick up a PW 27 that was still in the sailboat. It turned over and was all there, but I was just too leary to spend the $300 on an engine that had always been salt water cooled and hadn't seen water through the water jacket in at least 20 years. Salt water engine with a dry water jacket for that long, risky. |
